T&H Lemont Inc. recently designed, manufactured and delivered a model RA11-18 roll forming machine to a customer specializing in retail display cases. This machine is used to produce skirting boards, the corrugated steel used to protect the underside of most shelves and cabinets.
The design of the machine is based on the company’s standard model RA11, configured for 18 stations, 1.5 inches. shaft and 14 in. Distance between rolls. It has 11 inches. Horizontal and vertical centers are adjustable from 6-1/4″ to 7-1/2″. This roll forming machine processes mild steel from 0.031″ to 0.035″ at speeds up to 100 feet per minute.
Its welded steel base is a plate structure. The shaft is made of high strength alloy steel, hardened and ground. Precision tapered bearings/tapered bearings can accommodate radial and axial loads. Hardened gears run in an oil bath for smooth, quiet operation.
